After training as a Womenswear Pattern Cutter @Institut Català de la Moda (2012 - 2015), Vera moved to London to broaden her experience in costume design.
While at university, her main field of work was in theatre, where she was able to combine her construction skills and assistant roles (Old Vic, ROH, Rambert) with projects as a costume designer involving short films and theatre productions.
After graduating in Costume for Performance @London College of Fashion (2019) she quickly transitioned to film, working internationally in fast paced, high level production companies.
With a solid knowledge in construction and the experience gained as a freelance designer, Vera is interested in exploring the limits of the idea of costumes as functions of fiction. As a practitioner, her aim is to examine the behaviour of costume not just as a piece of cloth, but as a cultural text conveying wider significance.
